I am a compulsively creative person by nature and a paper cutter by trade. Inspired by things I see and experience in my daily life, I take photographs, sketch and then cut images out of a single piece of black paper with an x-acto knife. I complete each paper cut by fixing one or more colored papers on the back with bookbinding glue. Spending the majority of my life in Pennsylvania farm country, Western Montana, and the watery, mountainous Pacific Northwest, nature has always been key to my happiness and creativity. Nature’s complexity, beauty, and ability to elicit emotion inform and inspire me every day and my affinity for all living things manifests in every piece of art I create.
