Assemblage Art

Steve Parmelee

Steve Parmelee is an award-winning assemblage artist and an obsessive collector and creator who expresses narrative concepts through found-object wall sculptures. It’s a powerful way to comment on current conditions using only antiquated artifacts, everyday objects that have withstood the test of time and bridges generations. His artwork is part of the permanent collection at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, where he also had a recent solo exhibition. His work has been exhibited at venues including BIMA, Linda Hodges Gallery, Bemis Arts, Bainbridge Arts & Crafts, Washington State History Museum, and his work has been supported through awards from the Edmonds Art Festival, Collective Visions, and Northwind Arts. He was a juror for the 2017 Kingston Arts Festival, and was Artist in Residence at the 2017 Bainbridge RAGS. He is a found-object assemblage artist exploring the timeless while utilizing the timeworn.
