Erica Applewhite is a block print artist and educator whose work blends traditional techniques with playful, contemporary flair. Using soft cut—a flexible alternative to linoleum and wood—she hand-carves and prints each piece, often enhancing the final image with watercolor or colored pencil. Her subject matter ranges from animals and nature to whimsical objects and imaginative ideas, reflecting a joyful curiosity and love of storytelling. Erica holds a B.A. in Studio Art with an emphasis in printmaking from Occidental College. She shares her process through teaching and continues to explore the expressive possibilities of relief printing.
