Fred Buxton

Kiln Formed Glass

Fred Buxton is a kiln-formed glass artist specializing in layered landscapes that explore depth, light, and color. After retiring from a career in the Federal Government, Fred discovered glass in 2014 and was immediately drawn to its transparency and technical complexity. He opened Raining Sunshine Studio in 2016 and currently creates and teaches at Waterfront Glass Studio in Keyport, Washington. Influenced by the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, Fred’s work captures the interplay of light and image through multiple firings and fused layers. He has studied with leading glass artists and remains deeply grateful to the generous community that shaped his journey. Fred is committed to sharing his knowledge and continues to “paint with glass” in ways that invite reflection and wonder.
