A lifelong potter, Meredith Chernick earned her degree in Art Education with an emphasis in Ceramics from Western Washington University. She taught in public schools and served as an Adjunct Instructor at the Northwest College of Art and Design for 19 years before dedicating herself fully to her studio practice. At Fern Street Pottery Studio, nestled in her wooded backyard in Indianola, Meredith creates functional, artisan-crafted ceramics designed for everyday use. Her work begins with form and intention, each piece thrown to achieve elegance, balance, and utility. Meredith believes functional pottery should feel satisfying in the hand and seamlessly fit into daily life, beautiful, purposeful, and made to be used.
